The idea for Deep South grew organically amongst a small group of friends in the Mobile/Fairhope area that were seeking a music event that represented their love for area artists and some of the up and coming regional acts that have recently broken into the national scene. Local radio and TV stations see event as a wonderful opportunity to showcase some of the great talent that the area boasts.

In the future we plan to turn Deep South into a two to three day camping festival with canoeing and tubing as a recreational option. We have already found the perfect spot to hold next years event and we will possibly produce two events a year starting 2009. One at Oysterella's in the Fall and the camping trip in the Spring. We are very excited about what the future may hold for this event and hope that it will bring the music community a little closer together with each passing year.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to
The Bo Roberts Memorial Music Fund.

Bo was an amazing singer/songwriter and blues organist. He was also a great friend and fan of the Mobile music community. His untimely death left a "great big piano shaped hole in the world". We love him and miss him dearly.

Deep South would not be possible without the help of all of our friends and fellow music supporters. We look forward to seeing you there and celebrating with you!
