Bands El Cantador
El Cantador

Press/Bio:
Since their inception, El Cantador has had the tendency to rustle in new
fans at every show, and the explanation for their popularity is quite
simple. El Cantador continues to have the freshest sound in a town that
seems to be divided between hip-hop, underground and jam. Listeners
might hear a pinch of Wilco and a dash of My Morning Jacket in their
aural dishes. It is quite clear that this band is well on their way to
making their mark in the Southern alt. rock genre." - lagniappemobile.com

The band is a four piece rock outfit who began performing in early
Spring of 2007.
They have self-released two EPs and the single "Glean" (to be featured
on an upcoming full length). In July of 2009, El Cantador was voted
"Best Local Band" in Mobile, AL by Lagniappe readers and fellow
Mobilians. El Cantador is no stranger to wearing their influences on
their sleeves. But, while their original sound borrows from folk, roots
rock, and the general spirit of rock n' roll, they continue to embrace
new styles and technologies with the emergence of their latest material.
Having just returned from a succession of mini-tours in the SouthEast,
the band is writing and rehearsing new material for their upcoming full
length.
