Deep South Music Fest returns to Causeway Sept. 12 Posted by Lawrence Specker, Entertainment Reporter August 18, 2009 1:51 PM The Deep South Music Festival is now officially an annual event, with the second fest slated to take place Sept. 12 at Oysterella's restaurant on the Causeway.Like the first edition of the festival, the second offers a one-day, multi-stage lineup heavy on local and regional talent, with groups traveling from as far as Austin and Memphis. According to promotional materials, represented genres include rock, reggae, funk, jazz, blues, country, folk, bluegrass, electronica, and conscious hiphop. Featured acts include Topaz & Mudphonic, Zoogma, The Lowdown Throwdown, El Cantador, Rooster Blues, Peek, Hank Becker, Muskrat Hannah, Mob Towne Revival, Kristy Lee, Phunk Blue Moon, SubjecTmatTerS, The Common Thread, The Dig, Atmosphreak, Glove Box Heat & Organic Logic, The Rez, Leland Clay and Adam Miller.
